Black Oak Mountain Vineyards is a secluded, design-forward estate where panoramic views, architectural beauty, and nature come together for an effortlessly elevated celebration. Located on a private 150-acre estate in Cool, California that offers a refined, all-in-one setting for weddings. The property features several unique event spaces, including a variety of outdoor ceremony sites to suit different styles and guest counts:
Receptions are typically held in either the Modern Barn or the Vineyard Club, both of which include outdoor patios, fire pits, and ample space for dining and dancing.
On-site lodging at the Mountain Modern Villa is available for up to 22 guests, with full weekend packages offered. One of the most picturesque parts of the estate is the saltwater infinity pool and spa, often used for cocktail hour and portraits thanks to its sunset-facing views.
Megan and Gary planned a design-forward celebration that fully embraced the venue’s modern and natural charm. The villa provided the a modern background for photos of the wedding party getting ready. Their ceremony took place beneath two oak trees, with sweeping valley views and minimalist white florals grounding the altar. Guests surrounded the couple in a square seating layout, creating a more immersive and intimate experience.
After the ceremony, everyone transitioned to cocktail hour outside the Villa, gathered by the saltwater infinity pool and spa. The view from the terrace offered a stunning backdrop while guests enjoyed drinks and conversation. From there, the reception space featured long tables, string lights, and clear vases of calla lilies. My favorite design piece was they had personalized table numbers that featured destinations they had visited and key milestones in their relationship. The menus were also personal written in English or Russian for their guests. The decor felt timeless: clean, neutral, and tailored with sharp black-and-white details. As the sun set, portraits by the infinity pool and vineyards added a calm, cinematic tone.
Lucky Devils Band kept the energy high with live music, turning the reception into a lively, unforgettable party. And to keep cool the couple opted for a gelato cart. My favorite was the pistachio gelato!
Capturing the day on film, drone, and digital helped preserve the emotion, movement, and architectural beauty throughout. Every element felt intentional, refined, and true to Megan and Gary’s style.
